Join us at the Texas Folklife Gallery Thursday December 12th to celebrate the release of Dr. Rachel Valentina González’s latest book Quinceañera Style: Social Belongings and Latinx Consumer Identities. Resistencia bookstore will have copies of the book available for sale and Chulita Vinyl Club will be DJing a set.    

“This is a great book—a sophisticated, intersectional, and transnational project. González takes an innovative approach to quinceañeras that considers the complex, post-nationalist, global economy as well as some post-ethnic but gendered practices.”
