Lilia Rosas, Ph.D. — Executive Director
Lilia Rosas is a cultural worker, multidisciplinary historian, and community leader. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she has resided in the southside and eastside of Austin, Texas for three decades. She has served as the Executive Director of the nonprofit Red Salmon Arts since 2013, which is dedicated to Chicana/o/x, Latina/o/x, and Indigenous literary and cultural arts programming and working with the communities of Austin and Central Texas. She also holds a Ph.D. in history from UT Austin and is a faculty member in the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies at UT Austin since 2018. Through her nonprofit work, her recognitions are being invited as a guest speaker/facilitator and panelist as well as receiving several awards, including: 2018 Community Sabbatical Research Grant (Humanities Institute, UT Austin), the 2019 “Sí Se Puede” Award (PODER), and a 2025 nomination for the Duende-Word BIPOC Bookseller Award. She was a grant-making panelist for the Resist Foundation in 2018 and 2024; a reviewer for the City of Austin cultural arts funding guidelines reboot in 2022; a committee member for Emma S Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center (ESB-MACC) Awards of Excellence in 2025; and currently is an advisory board member for the nonprofit collective Treasure City Thrift since 2017. Last, over a dozen media outlets and scholarly projects ranging from the Austin-American Statesman, Austin Chronicle, Sinister Wisdom, and the national radio program, Native America Calling have featured her insights.
M L Mutrux — Head of Nonprofit Operations
M got their start in nonprofit operations, bookstore management, projects and program management, and budget creation through RSA. They began volunteering in 2013 and moved into programming and administration for the organization in 2019. They are deeply committed to grassroots organizing and the cultural arts, especially those organizations driving social justice initiatives and maintaining and embodying diverse cultural heritages across the US. M offers adept bookkeeping and operations management to the organizations they work with, including strategic planning, invoicing and reconciliation, organizational attunement and HR, and communications.
