Come one, come all! Share a poem or a story. Listen to our fantastic feature poet share her heart.

JASMINE C. BELL is an emerging poet in Austin, Texas and currently attends the University of Texas with plans to major in psychology and minor in Mandarin Chinese. In 2015 she was a member of the UT Spitshine slam poetry team that went to CUPSI, where they placed 13th nationally and won the award for “Best Writing by a Team”. She spends her time writing, studying, drawing, and singing.

On the 11th, she will present her new book “Tears of Genesis”. The book aims to interweave her heritage with her journey through the healing process, accentuating her attempt to salvage her body from the clenched fists of depression, embarrassment due to her physical disabilities, and the lingering memories of sexual assault that always surfaced when confronted with her own flesh with imagery from Chinese mythology.
