10:00 AM, sabado, 10 julio 2022

Red Salmon Arts presents a cuento time exploring some of our favorite multicultural stories.

This is an in-person, outdoors cuento time at 2000 Thrasher Lane!

We will featuring a reading of Como Mi Padrino with author, Miguel Antony Briones.

Follow Miguelito on his journey through adolescence, as he searches for empathy and compassion while trying to stay above negative influences and feelings of fear and frustration.

Como Mi Padrino is a coming-of-age story about a young Chicanito who finds meaning and direction in the world of music. When he is taken under the wing of a stranger named Eztli, Miguelito is introduced to electric guitars, punk rock, and radical acceptance.

About the author

Miguel Anthony Briones is an award-winning educator, anti-racist community organizer, public speaker, and  self published author of the bilingual children’s book Como Mi Padrino. He was born and raised in Central El Paso Texas. Once a young travieso, he now writes about the experiences and culture that shaped his perception and outlook on life. He currently lives in the excessively overpriced city of Austin Texas, with his wife and their perra chiflada Doña Benson Kenobi (aka La BK de Tejas). When he is not writing or illustrating, Miguel enjoys composing music, practicing curanderismo, volunteering with local and national organizations, and writing about himself in the third person. His hope is to inspire and empower future generations through his writing by uplifting the experiences and issues that impact marginalized and vulnerable communities.
