Dmitra-Dejahnae Lucas, “Miss Meech” is a poet, author, student of life and leader in the financial services industry. Originally, she was born and raised in Fairfield, CA. Since a young adolescent she has written poetic prose in journals but only recently ventured into writing poetry and spoken word in 2014. Miss Meech experiments with multiple styles of poetry to challenge herself and to develop her craft as well as find her voice and niche in the genre. She aims to inspire others to introspectively recognize and be true to their voice through her writing. Miss Meech aims to monetize her passion for writing and to help other future writers retain ownership of their art through self-published books. Currently, she resides in Austin, TX. Miss Meech has co-founded an organization, “People Pushin’ Poems” that travels around Central Texas hosting events to give a platform to local talent to push their adversity, hardship, successes and story in the form of storytelling to the masses. Aside from writing, she studies Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Texas at Austin and educates families and individuals with little to no financial plan on how to become their own bank!

Myles Martin, originally from McComb, Mississippi, is a 27-year old who leans into his childhood creativity. Myles, F.R.O., fully embodies the word artist, as he writes short stories and science fiction, draws anime style characters and is a spoken word poet. He has been drawing and creating characters since the age of 2. His life long passion is to release a manga series based on his childhood creations. Aside from drawing, he enjoys quality time with his son by taking him to comic book stores, Game Stop and the library. As of recent, Myles has been featuring in and hosting open mic / poetry events to share his story and provoke others to share theirs. He has co-founded an organization, “People Pushin’ Poems” that travels around Central Texas hosting events to give a platform to local talent to push their adversity, hardship, successes and story in the form of storytelling to the masses. Aside from writing, F.R.O advocates for criminal justice reform and bartends at public and private events.

Brandie has been writing, painting, and overall creating since she was young. As a teenager she leaned more into writing, exploring her talent and her unique way of expressing her innermost perspective. As an adult, she decided to open up and start sharing her poems with the public by self-publishing her first poetry book, Open to the Moon. She is currently managing her business as a Life Coach and Mental Health consultant, as well as being the Vice President of Real Queens Fix Each Other’s Crowns. A nonprofit that focuses on the mental health of women and young girls. Outside of her busy schedule, Brandie has self published a poetry book and enjoys writing. She also enjoys finding new hang-out spots in Austin, as well as hiking, shopping for old books, and traveling.

Café Libro: RSA boasts the longest running literary venue in the city of Austin. Continuing the multi-decade tradition of open-mike series such as the Eastside/Southside Poetic Action and Canto Libre, Café Libro provides a forum for emerging and established proponents of spoken word. These readings feature talented writers ranging in ages from 9 to 80. Café Libro offers local writers/artists an opportunity to build self-confidence and performance skills by presenting their work to the communities of Austin.
